The Bible's Teachings on Protecting Animals and Nature
The Bible teaches and commands us to treat animals with kindness and respect. The massive abuse and suffering legally inflicted on billions of animals every year is a clear violation of the teachings of our religious faith and cannot be justified by any person of faith and decency.
The people for whom the Bible was originally written thousands of years ago were intimately familiar with wildlife and domestic animals, especially the practice of raising cattle and other animals. The Bible contains strict rules governing the treatment of farmed animals, and indeed all of God's creatures, which were designed to prevent any unnecessary pain and suffering.

Is spaying/neutering animals biblical or is it a sin?
Last month, i emailed Pastor Dr. Charles Stanley to ask whether spaying/neutering animals is biblical or is it a sin?
Today i received the answer:
"We would share with you that there is no mention in Scripture of the concept of spaying and neutering animals. The role of animals as pets (as opposed to animals that helped perform work) was not as prevalent in biblical times as it is today.
We see nothing in the Bible to prevent spaying and neutering of animals, or that would indicate doing so would be a sin. We believe, in many circumstances it can be considered a wise thing to do both for the health and safety of the animal, and for the wise financial stewardship of its owner.
We encourage you to take this matter to the Lord in fervent prayer, reading His Word and praying as King David prayed in Psalm 25:4-5: “Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God and my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long” (NIV). God promises: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you” (Ps. 32:8 NASB). “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jer. 33:3 NASB)."

Uncle Goh is a kind soul who is running a shelter for abandoned/unwanted dogs at Tikam Batu, Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia. This former sub-contractor & now jobless man rents a wooden house on a piece of land for the purpose of taking in stray dogs & care for them. He lives together with the dogs, sleeps with them & eats with them. Uncle Goh depends on donation from the public to run the shelter, pay utilities bills & feed the dogs. He works tirelessly day and night to care for the dogs at the shelter. Taking care of so many dogs is not an easy task, but it has never become an excuse for him to give up.
